While Arashi had originally been conceived as an individual association for students before even the time of the UT, it has since become partly dependent of funds, subsidies, and advantages garnered from being a part of the university associations.
The highest governing organization within this structure is the Student Union (SU), which is the end responsible for where funds go within the university associations. These funds are subdivided over Umbrellas, organizations which manage a specific category of associations. For sports associations, this is the Sports Umbrella Utwente (SUT), which we interact with directly and distribute subsidies to us.
